Little Doompa Diapers
The company
Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 children. She started sewing when she was just 12 years old. Karen first started making diapers for her daughter, she started having her friends and family asking her to make diapers for them, then it ended up growing Into a business.
The diaper
The diaper that Little Doompa Diapers sent me to review is her XL Heavy wetter. The diaper was made using the Rocket Bottom twist pattern, It has a Pul Outer, and a Polyester inner. The diaper comes with 3 soakers with different levels of absorbency, the soakers are made layers of Zorb ( each soaker has different layers ) sandwich between Cotton velour and bamboo fleece.
The diaper closes using velcro it has three rise snaps for a more custom fit.
Fit and Size
The diaper fit my 25 pound 36 inch tall chunky toddler, the only problem I had was when I tried to use the rise snaps they wouldn't stay snapped. I asked her to make this diaper a little bigger because of how chunky my son is. The fit is pretty good I really liked how it fits him I really wish I could have used the rise snaps to give it a better fit but that's okay.
Thickness/Bulkiness
The diaper itself isn't thick, but with all 3 soakers the diaper was very thick, even with 1 soaker the diaper was still a little bulky. I don't really like bulky diapers because it's hard to fit them under clothes but this is for a heavy wetter, so I understand why it has to be a little bulky.
Aesthetic Design
I like the cuteness of the diaper. Karen has a great section of fabrics to choose from. Even my son loves how cute the diaper is.
Sewing Quality
For the most part the sewing quality looked wonderful – the stitching looks great and it has held up over multiple washings. The only issue we have is I couldn't get the rise snap to stay snapped, every time I tried to velcro the diaper together they came unsnapped. Other then that she did a great job on sewing this diaper.
My Review
We used this diaper for night time and nap time. It worked great for nap time I only had to use 2 of the inserts. I tried it for a few nights, the first night he peed right through it. I think that's because he took a cup to bed with him that night. The last 2 nights we used it he hasn't really pee all the way through. My son sleeps about 12 hours and is a very heavy wetter. I think I'm going to keep trying this diaper a few more nights maybe add a hemp insert for extra absorbency. I really love the cutest of this diaper and the way it was designed. I haven't tried it yet for daytime use but I will and I'm sure it will hold up for a good 3 hours. ( that's how long he napped in it for)
Price
The average retail value for this diaper is $24.50, which is a great price for a heavy wetter.
Overall
I love the cuteness of this diaper, I love the pattern she used by rocket bottoms. It's a great diaper, Karen did a lovely job making it. I love it and I would buy from her again.
