Frist - Any Mainstream detergent without fabric softern will work for your diapers, you don't need some fancy diaper detergent to get your diapers clean, let's face it they don't work.
Second - Water level it's very important that you are using the right water level, they should look like a stew in your washer. You want your diapers to be able to rub together sometimes you need to add a towl to your diapers so they rub together better.
Okay.. Now that we have that out of the way let's get to the washing.
1. Prewash cold or warm, if you have hard water like me I use a 1/2 cup of borax to this.
2. Heavy duty hot wash with a full line of detergent. Add any boosters or water softern to them wash.
3. Use only the rinses on your machine, NO EXTRA RINSES! The only reason you may need a extra rinse is if your diapers feel slimy or if there are a ton of suds on your diapers.
4. I line dry my diapers and then my inserts go in the dryer. But once my diapers come off my line I put them in the dryer for 15mins to make them feel fuffy..
Your diapers shouldnt take hours to clean, it should be simple and easy like your clothes there's no need for extra steps. You shouldn't have to strip your diapers. They should always be clean unless you buy used diapers then you might need to bleach soak them.
Now that you know how clean your diapers go clean them and have fun doing.
